Olive tree - a gift from the gods (Olea europaea)

The olive, botanical name Olea europaea, meaning "European olive" is a popular classic in the plant rental.

Hardly any other Mediterranean tree exudes as much maritime flair as the olive tree. Olive trees are often gnarled trees when they get older. They are widespread in the Mediterranean region and have been cultivated since ancient times. In ancient writings it is referred to as an olive tree.

The olive tree is also considered a symbol of peace (dove with olive branch). Olive trees are actually crops that are grown on a large scale for the sake of olives. The history of the olive tree goes back to ancient times. It has been around since the 4th millennium BC. Cultivated as a useful plant.

Because it was considered a gift from the gods, the olive tree was a sacred tree for the ancient Greeks. At the birth of a son, an olive branch was hung on the front door, and the winners of the Olympic Games were honored with wreaths made of olive branches.
